BC Ferries Updates Commissioner on the Tachek Project

On Saturday, December 15, 2012, the MV Tachek was removed from service on the Quadra Island – Cortes Island route to undergo a mid-life extension.  It will be replaced by the MV Tenaka for the duration of the project.  The MV Tachek is expected to be back in service in September 2013.

Built in 1969 in North Vancouver, the MV Tachek will see its retirement date pushed out by an additional 14 years to 2029 as the result of this $15.6 million mid-life extension project.
